Tri-City Fire Department Holiday Safety Tips

The Tri-City Fire Department has some Holiday Safety tips so we can have a fire-safe holiday season. Some things you can do are: Check your Smoke Alarms, Make sure everyone in your family Knows & Practices your Fire Escape Plan, Use nonflammable holders for candles, keep candles a safe distance away from the Christmas tree and other holiday decorations, keep those candles out of the reach of children. If you haven't picked out a tree yet, then they have some advice for you: look for one thats fresh and green, the needles should bend and not snap in between your fingers, at home find a cool spot for your tree away from heater vents and the fireplace, water your tree often, dispose of the tree at a recycling center.
