See Globe Painter Jean Sullivan
Painting is enough of a challenge on the two-dimensional surface of a canvas, but Globe resident Jean Sullivan takes it a step further -- painting "in the round" on gourds. Jean has a few of her painted gourds with an exhibit of Sonoran desert landscapes during the month of November in the visitor center art gallery at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Globe-Miami residents are invited to see the show and "meet the artist" at Jean's exhibit opening reception Sunday, November 4, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Daily admission at the Arboretum is $7.50 for adults, $3 for ages 5-12. Admission includes the art gallery -- and also weekend events such as the guided bird walk Saturday at 8:30 am, daily tours throughout November at 1 pm, or the "Plants of the Bible" walk Sunday, Nov. 4th, at 1:30 pm.
