Mesa PD Seeking Your Help In The Fight Against Burglary And Theft

The Mesa Police Department is asking for your help in the fight against burglary and theft. Every day in Mesa, a business, home or vehicle is broken into and electronic devices ranging from laptops to MP3 players are stolen. A large number of these items are never recovered or connected to a suspect because the owner does not have information about the stolen item.

They ask that you write down the serial numbers of your electronic devices, note a description of the item (even photograph it) and engrave your driver's license number on them. Keep the information in a safe place. If an item is recovered, the item can be easily traced back to the owner if they have marked their property. Marked property is difficult for a thief to dispose of or resell.

By marking your valuables, you are taking an important step to protect your possessions from burglary and theft. Crime is everyone's problem. Let's work together to reduce it!

For more information on home security, Operation I.D., or a property inventory form that you can download, read the literature the Mesa PD has to offer. You can also contact your local police station and ask to speak with your crime prevention officer if you have any questions.
