School & Community College Governing Board Elections Qualified Candidates

Gila County Superintendent of Schools Linda O’Dell reports that the following persons have qualified as candidates for the November general election ballot as school district or community college governing board members. The filing deadline was Wednesday, August 6th, 2008.

Globe Unified School District:

In accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes §15-424 D, the Gila County Board of Supervisors may be asked to cancel the election and appoint as governing board members those who have filed as candidates where the same or fewer number of positions are open for election. Any person appointed in accordance with this statute is fully vested with the powers and duties of the office as if elected to that office. For the 2008 election, the Gila County Board of Supervisors may be requested to invoke ARS §15-424 D for the following entities: Hayden-Winkelman, Miami, Pine-Strawberry, Young, CVIT and NAVIT school districts and Gila Community College District II.
