Mesa City Plaza Building Closed By Power Outage Caused By Water Leak

Mesa City Plaza, at 20 E. Main St., is temporarily closed to the general public due to a power outage caused by a water leak.

Late last night, a water leak was discovered in the basement of the building, which short-circuited all of the electrical power, including all computers, elevators and the air conditioning. City Facilities employees are currently working to restore power.

The building is temporarily closed to such services as the City Clerk’s Office, Personnel, Planning and Neighborhood Services. However, this does not impact police and fire service, the ability to obtain building permits, Utilities services and all services at other City of Mesa facilities. City of Mesa employees who work in the Mesa City Plaza building should check with their supervisors for the latest information.

For updates on when Mesa City Plaza will reopen, contact City of Mesa Municipal Security at (480) 644-4703.
