Miami Fiesta De Libertad

The “Miami Fiesta De Libertad” is held each year in September in downtown Miami on the Saturday closest to Mexican Independence Day, as a celebration to commemorate the Independence of Mexico. The Town of Miami is located 75 miles east of Phoenix on US 60. The purpose of this historical event is intended to allow the Hispanic population of the area to remain aware of its roots and colorful heritage.

Come join the fun on Sept. 13th, for the parade at 9:30 am, to be followed by the “Chihuahua Wanna Be” contest. There will be various entertainments, including Mexican music to listen and dance to. You will find the best Mexican foods around Arizona. Check-in for the famous “Corridas de Chihuahuas ” (Chihuahua Races) will begin at 3 pm. The races will start at 3:30 pm. Enjoy the entertainment, including piñatas for the kids. Bring your best salsa and recipes, for the “Best Salsa Contest” and enter the “Who Can Eat the Most Jalapeños” contest or the “Grito” contest.

The cost of vendor booths will be $20 for no electricity and $35 with electricity. After
