ADOT is preparing to repave one mile of US 70 on the San Carlos Apache Reservation (milepost 282.5 to 283.5). The work includes total reconstruction of two sections of the roadway and guardrail work. Construction is scheduled to begin September 12. From Sept 15 through September 26 one lane of the highway will be closed 7-days per week/24-hours per day. The speed limit will be reduced and traffic will be piloted through the work area. Law enforcement personnel will be on site to monitor the speed of vehicles approaching the work zone.
The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of December.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed with caution, obey all posted speed limit signs, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
