Gila County Attorney Daisy Flores announced that a 12 person jury deliberated a little over 2 hours before returning multiple guilty verdicts against 38 year old Edgar Travis Cross. Cross was convicted of attempted second degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, second degree burglary, misconduct involving weapons, and theft for an October 12th, 2007 Claypool home invasion that ended with Cross using a stolen gun to fire five shots at a fleeing victim. The bullets did not hit the victim, but hit the fleeing pickup truck.
Chief Deputy County Attorney Bryan Chambers and Deputy County Attorney Pascal Brown presented the case to the jury for the Gila County Attorney's Office.
Flores commends the efforts of her staff, the Gila County Sheriff's Office, and the Miami Police Dept. for their efforts in the apprehension, investigation, & prosecution of Cross.
Cross will be sentenced on Aug. 25th, by Gila County Superior Court Judge Robert Duber II.
