Oracle State Park Needs Volunteers

The Oracle State Park is looking for volunteers to help with trail programs. The Volunteer Orientation Class is Jan. 23rd, from 9 am - Noon. The park relies on volunteers for a variety of essential tasks: garden maintenance, trail maintenance, historic building maintenance and construction projects. Oracle State Park volunteers work as guides to lead school programs scheduled in the fall and spring months. Volunteers will also help with special events and the park gift shop.

The Jan. 23rd, informational class welcomes potential volunteers. No commitment is necessary. Volunteer Naturalist Training continues the following week, Jan. 30th, from 9 am - Noon. Kathie Jordan will teach class participants about the plants of Oracle State Park. Meet at the Kannally Ranch House for a hands on indoor session to identify common trees, bushes, agaves, yuccas and more; followed by a trail walk to hone your botanical knowledge. Consecutive training classes are scheduled each Wednesday for the next six weeks through March 12th.
