The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Tucson Field Office & Gila District Fire Management Office will host a public open house meeting on April 9th, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Sonoita Fire Station, 3173 State Highway 83.
The purpose of the meeting is to present information about a planned prescribed burn in Las Cienegas National Conservation Area (NCA). The burn unit is 1,920 acres in the Maternity Well area, south of the Empire Ranch headquarters. The timeframe for completing the burns, weather permitting, is May 26th through June 15th.
