Workshop I: "Developing Your Photographic Vision." Chandler fine art photographer Robert Rice will offer two advanced workshops this spring, and students enrolling in the first one April 19th, (Saturday morning) at 9 am should already have a basic understanding of film or digital camera operation such as exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. The first session will help you develop and express your creative photographic vision, beginning with a discussion on photography and the art of seeing. Participants will explore how to evolve your photography from snapshots to art. Using close-up and macro photography as the focus you will practice seeing the "art" in photography. Limited to ten students, enrollment is $35 (or enroll in both sessions for $60).

Workshop II: "Using Photoshop to Realize Your Photographic Vision." Rice's second workshop on May 18th, at 1 pm will help you develop your images into fine art prints or for web-based publishing. Topics will include preparing your image and adjusting it using Photoshop for presentation as a print or for use on the web. You’ll also learn the importance of color calibration in the digital workflow & how to calibrate your system & use color profiles (other software topics include scanning, using color profiles, curves, & sharpening). Participants should have at least basic familiarity with Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements. Limited to ten students, enrollment is $35. View some of the artist's galleries on his website:
