Altercation Near Coolidge Turns Deadly

On Feb. 5th, at approx. 10:30 pm, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and advised that there were shots being fired in the area of East Arizona St. As deputies were en-route, at approx. 10:38 pm, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Coolidge Police Department who advised there were gunshot victims at the Galloping Goose Bar in Coolidge.

Investigators have determined that a disagreement transpired between several parties in the Desert Beach area located in an unincorporated subdivision outside the city limits of Coolidge on Martin Rd. Following the altercation the parties were separated but the suspects later returned to the residence on Martin Rd. where a shooting occurred and subsequently 21 year old Angel Bollinger of Coolidge, who was approx. 7 months pregnant, was fatally wounded. Medical personnel were able to successfully deliver her baby who has been transported to a hospital in Maricopa County.

Harvey Rushing Jr., 23, of Coolidge was shot in the arm and is listed in stable condition in a hospital in Maricopa County.

Ronald James Thompson, 31, of Casa Grande has been arrested and charged with the murder of Angel Bollinger.

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and additional persons of interest. Several search warrants have been executed and the investigation is ongoing.
