Governor Jan Brewer will make the first of several visits to the state’s rural counties on a Feb. 17th, trip to Navajo and Coconino Counties in northeastern Arizona. The Governor’s visit will include roundtable discussions with elected representatives from both counties, a public ceremony at the Show Low School District auditorium as well as a tour of the expanding operations of a manufacturing plant in Flagstaff.
“I have had the opportunity as an elected official to become very familiar with some of the long term issues facing rural Arizona,” said Governor Brewer. “This is an exciting opportunity for me to meet again with the residents and elected officials of two vitally important counties and hear about their most substantive and pressing needs and concerns.”
The Governor’s visit will begin with a short breakfast meeting with elected officials from Navajo County, including city and town council members, members of the Northland Pioneer College Board, and the Board of Supervisors. At 10:20 am, the Governor will arrive at the Show Low School District auditorium for a patriotic ceremony with high school seniors from throughout the County. The event is open to the public.
From Show Low the Governor will travel to Flagstaff for another roundtable with elected officials from Coconino County, including the Board of Supervisors, Mayor, City Council and local business group the Flagstaff 40. At 1:20 pm the Governor is scheduled to stop at Joy Cone Ice Cream Manufacturing Plant for a tour of the plant’s expanding operations in Flagstaff.
