Magician & Wildlife Show Planned For Next Week At The Florence Community Library

Magic and a wildlife show are part of the fun at the Florence Community Library the week of June 22nd through June 26th.According to Children's Librarian Rita Marquez, "Pablo Picasso said all children are artists. The problem is how do they remain artists when they grow up? This summer we're exploring the world of creativity, and everyone's having a wonderful journey."On Monday, children under 12 will receive the "Dance Word Find" trivia sheets and teenagers will play an "On with the Show" crossword puzzle. In addition, Wii and Xbox 360 games will be available in the programming room from 1 pm to 3 pm.On Tuesday at 2 pm, teens will see a movie about high school seniors who are struggling with the idea of being separated from one another as they head off to college.On Wednesday at 10 am, special guest Jolly Roger will perform "an amazing magic show," Marquez said. "He is dubbed 'Mr. Magic' because his show is full of mystery, laughter and intrigue, and it stresses the importance of reading."Children will decorate pre-cut puzzles on Thursday at 2 pm.On Friday at 2 pm, special guest Wildman Phil from Desert Wildlife Presentations will bring exotic reptiles and mammals to the library for up close, personal inspection. "Stumpy the Tortoise will steal your heart," Marquez said.
