Pioneer Fire Update
The lightning caused Pioneer Fire (approx. 7 miles south of Globe & west of Highway 77) on East Mountain on the Pinal Mountains, has now burned 95 acres. The tactic being used on this fire is a Type 3 organization consisting of Payson Hotshots, Pleasant Valley Hotshots, 3 engines, 1 bulldozer, & aerial resources as needed. The fire is 0% contained & still has an estimated containment date of June 18th. Periodic smoke can be expected.As a precaution due to the fire activity, the public is being asked to avoid the fire area, the Pioneer Pass Recreation Site, & the East Mountain Trail.
