2nd Annual Earth Day At The Garden

The public is invited to join the Arizona League of Conservation Voters & the AZLCV Education Fund at its 2nd Annual Earth Day at the Garden, an afternoon at Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. The program is sponsored by APS, SRP & The Pedersen Group.

The Arizona League of Conservation Voters is the largest member-supported, statewide conservation organization in Arizona. As the political arm of the environmental community, the League works to elect pro-conservation candidates to state office, educates elected officials on issues of importance to its members, & lobbies on behalf of conservation measures. The League also works to promote accountability among elected officials.

Earth Day at the Garden, set for April 20th, from 1 pm - 3 pm & will feature special guest, Diane MacEachern, the author of Big Green Purse: Use Your Spending Power to Create a Cleaner, Greener World. MacEachern will share eco-conscious ideas in sensible, time-saving ways to "go green" now, with either small changes, or bigger lifestyle alterations. Additionally, she will weigh in on the importance of an individuals’ "vote" – either through their spending power or at the ballot box & its impact on the world.

Big Green Purse focuses on women & their consumer clout to protect the environment & themselves. The book enables women to use their undeniable purchasing power to create safeguards that have eluded legislation & regulation.

Earth Day at the Garden is FREE will include fun for kids & families with live interactions with wildlife & craft activities, such as Eco-Man, that support environmental awareness for children. Each guest will also receive a pass into the Garden’s Spring Butterfly exhibit.
