Hunt Highway Construction Alert

Pulte Homes is widening Hunt Highway south of Merrill Ranch Parkway to just past the Johnson Utilities pump station. The work includes widening Hunt Highway to its ultimate design of 6-lanes with a divided median, as well installing both a pedestrian box culvert & a drainage box culvert.

The work will begin by creating a temporary by pass or "shoe-fly" that will allow traffic to continue along Hunt Highway. No interruption of service on Hunt Highway during this stage of construction is expected.

Project Information:

The road expansion of Hunt Highway section located south of Merrill Ranch Parkway to north of the Hunt Highway Curve. Expansion will include the widening of Hunt Highway to 6 lanes with a divided median & pedestrian box-culvert bridge.

Project Schedule:

(June 16th - June 30th)

On Monday, June 16th, roadside construction will begin along Hunt Highway between Merrill Ranch Parkway & the Hunt Highway Curve. Construction will consist of grading & utility installation along the existing roadside. Traffic control will be in place & the speed limit will reduce to 25mph.

Starting Monday, June 30th, traffic will temporarily shift to the west side as construction of the box-culverts begins. Traffic speed will remain 25mph.

Traffic control warning message boards will be set up Friday June 13th, to notify drivers of future road construction & expected delays. Construction is anticipated to be completed later this year. Motorists are advised to use caution & obey the posted speed limit in construction areas. Periodic delays are to be expected.
