According to the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, Urgent Care addresses the Nation’s need for immediate & affordable access to medical care for non life-threatening conditions. Urgent Care allows hospital based Emergency Departments to more effectively & appropriately focus their care on the more serious injuries & illnesses that will require in-hospital treatment for stabilization & ongoing medical attention. Urgent Care facilities can also become extensions of local physician offices by treating patients with same day needs, allowing the primary care physician to focus on the long term needs of their patients.
