Safford "Site Stewards" Needed

The Arizona Site Steward program is recruiting volunteers for the Safford area. The Bureau of Land Management & the State Land Dept. need "Site Stewards" to monitor archeological sites & report changes of conditions, whether caused by nature or by human intervention. Training will be provided & scheduled in Safford after the December Holidays. Volunteers are required to complete 10 hours of training, which include: federal and state antiquity laws; documenting sites; identifying artifacts and sites; and how to manage and photograph crime scenes as it applies to archeological sites.
