McCartney Road from Cox Road to Bel Air Road will be closed to traffic starting Jan. 2nd for approx. 2 weeks. The McCartney Road closure is east of I-10 between Coolidge & Casa Grande. Motorists in Casa Grande will start seeing portable message boards alerting them to a traffic detour beginning Jan. 2nd.
The intersection of McCartney & Cox Roads is currently under construction by a Pinal County contractor that is making drainage & paving improvements for the area. A new concrete box culvert is now in place. This eliminates the need for the drainage dip along McCartney & east of Cox. Due to the size of the cuts & fills adjacent to the concrete box culvert, it is necessary to close the road to complete the earthwork & paving. The McCartney & Cox Road intersection has been under construction to widen the road & add turn lanes.
The contractor is scheduled to reopen McCartney Road from Cox to Bel Air during the week of Jan. 16th. Motorists will be routed from Bel Air over to Woodruff to Cox & vice versa. Motorists are advised to obey all traffic control devices & drive safely.
