Gov. Janet Napolitano, along with Mitel Chairman Terry Matthews, CEO Don Smith & Norman Stout, CEO of Mitel US, today announced Mitel’s intention to pursue future expansion in Arizona. Mitel, a leading provider of business communications solutions operating in more than 90 countries, acquired Tempe, Ariz.-based Inter-Tel in August. Mitel has now consolidated its U.S. operations into the former Inter-Tel headquarters in Arizona.
The Arizona-based Mitel laboratories have the research & development responsibilities for all Mitel’s small & medium business (SMB) solutions & next-generation collaboration applications.
The Governor also agreed to explore additional opportunities for Mitel to work with the Az. Dept. of Commerce to grow the company while improving the local workforce through job training & research & development grants.
