Three occupants of a pickup truck and the driver of a Miami Unified School District Bus were injured Tuesday afternoon when the pickup struck the rear of the bus while the bus was stopped at the railroad crossing at U.S. 60/70 & Marion Canyon.
The driver of the pickup & the 2 children she was transporting, nor the driver of the school bus appeared to be seriously injured however they each necessitated further examination at Cobre Valley Community Hospital after being treated on scene by Tri-City Fire Dept. EMS personnel. Tri-City Ambulance transported the 4 injured persons. None of the school children on the bus were injured.
The accident occurred at approx. 3:10 pm. The pickup sustained major front-end damage while the bus received minor damage. The Arizona Dept. of Public Safety's investigating the accident & was being assisted by Gila County Sheriff’s Office personnel.
