Globe To Get Brownfields Grant Check

ADEQ Director Steve Owens will present Mayor Stan Gibson a Brownfields Grant Check of $50,000 at the Globe City Hall, 150 N. Pine Street on Dec. 3rd. for an environmental site assessment on 17 acres that the city plans to develop into a mixed-use industrial park. The site is the former location of the Mountain View Mobile Homes Estates Subdivision. In 1979, state and local officials found that the site was contaminated with asbestos and all residents were evacuated and the site was later capped and fenced off.
