The missing kayaker has been found. An Arizona Dept. of Public Safety Tucson Ranger located the missing subject at approx. 10 am. The subject was taken to the Command Post at the Matazal rest area on Highway 188 to be checked out.
As of 6:30 this morning, the Gila Co. Sheriff's Office along with DPS Ranger Helicopter continued their search for the kayaker that went missing on Dec. 2nd. The missing kayaker tipped over while in the water near the area where Rye Creek & Tonto Creek join Northeast of Jakes Corner. That's when the two were seperated. The friend called from an area on Tonto Creek near the confluence of Rye Creek.
