Fishing Contest To Benefit Special Olympics Starts Sunday

This Sunday, April 13th, is the kickoff of the Claypool Safeway sponsored Charity Fishing Contest. The contest will run until Noon on May 31st, 2008. The biggest fish caught by a pre-registered contestant in the Roosevelt Lake or San Carlos Lake and weighed in at Kilmer’s Kountry Store will be eligible for the prizes. Prizes of Adult recreation packs (valued at $300) & Children’s recreation packs (valued at $150) will be awarded for the biggest (by weight) Bass, Crappie and/or Catfish. One prize will be awarded per species per age group. The lucky fisher-person must be pre-registered at the Claypool Safeway before the fish is caught. All fish must be weighed, photographed, dated & certified at Kilmer’s. Cost of picture & certification of weight is the responsibility of the contestant.

Registration fees for the contest are $20 for each Adult ( 16 years or older) & $10 for each Child (15 years or younger). You will need to register & pay your entry fee at the Claypool Safeway office. All entry fees will be donated to the Special Olympics.
