Due to an overwhelming response to a press release detailing the updating of the Home Alone Program, Home Alone program participants in unincorporated Pinal County can arrange reprogramming of older kits over the phone. The older kits will still operate as they have originally have been & do not need to be turned in; they can be reprogrammed over the phone.
Residents of unincorporated Pinal County who already participate in the Home Alone program can call (520) 866-5191 and leave their name, address & phone number to be contacted about reprogramming.
Home Alone phone kits are provided to citizens through a partnership between PCSO, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office, United Way, TRIAD, SALT, the Community Action Human Resources Agency (CAHRA), City of Casa Grande, Apache Junction, Eloy, Coolidge & Florence.
The kits include an emergency device that is programmed to a home telephone & will dial 3 chosen neighbor numbers & an emergency number if the pendant, which is worn around the neck, is activated by the push of a button. The pendant will continue calling these numbers until someone answers & will forgo answering machines.
The purpose of the Home Alone Safety Program is to alert emergency services when an elderly and/or disabled citizen has an emergency.
There is a one-time donation fee of $50 for a new Home Alone kit, which is installed at no additional charge, with no monthly fees or service charges. Existing participants will not have to pay to reprogram their kits.
