Main Street Grants Awarded

Helping Arizonans & state visitors find their way to downtown businesses is an over-arching theme as 6 Main Street Grants are awarded by the Az. Dept. of Commerce.

The total of the grants awarded was $59,539.

The Main Street Program fosters economic development within the context of historic preservation by working as a partner with local & state agencies, property owners & business people to revitalize downtown areas. The Az. Legislature established the Main Street Program within the Az. Dept. of Commerce to stimulate the preservation & revitalization of downtown areas in smaller communities statewide. Commerce assists Main Street Program participants in creating local organizations that manage both revitalization & promotion of central business districts in communities statewide.
