A ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest Aero Modeler Park in Arizona will be on March 1st, at 1 pm. This is the only park of its kind in Pinal County with a paved runway. The park's been designed to accommodate remote control model airplane enthusiasts. The park is located directly east of the Charles Whitlow Rodeo grounds on Highway 79, approx. 3 miles south of Florence.
The activities will kick off with an introduction and remarks from Town of Florence Mayor Tom Rankin, followed by remarks and a plaque presentation by the president of the Florence Aero Modelers Club, Lyle Bohn, and then the ribbon cutting. The Aero Modeler Club will provide the public with a flight demonstration following the ribbon cutting.
