The Tri-City Dept. has sent over this release:
A 1997 Dodge Intrepid was destroyed after fire started in the engine compartment. The Tri-City Fire Dept. was dispatched to 5497 Apache Hills Lane at 10:14 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14th. The engine compartment was fully involved & was spreading throughout the vehicle interior upon their arrival. Firefighters on the first responding engine had fire control within 2 minutes after their arrival.
Mr. David Licano owns the vehicle. He indicated that he left the vehicle momentarily while the engine was warming up. The engine compartment was engulfed with fire upon his return. A mechanical failure is attributed to starting the fire. The fire was contained to the vehicle & there were no injuries to firefighters.
