The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (ACPE) is hosting the 12th Annual College Goal Sunday to get the word out about financial aid dollars that are available for Arizona students who need assistance for college this fall. This powerful event will be held at 27 locations throughout Arizona Feb. 10th, from 2 pm - 4 pm. Two Phoenix area sites will host Saturday editions for those who cannot attend on Sunday.
The purpose of College Goal Sunday is to assist students, especially minority & 1st generation college applicants, in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, which is their 1st step toward accessing postsecondary education. Over 300 volunteer financial aid professionals & high school counselors will lend a hand to those completing FAFSA forms & seeking information on the financial aid process.
This year the College Goal Sunday sponsors are providing 4 laptops & $5,000 in scholarships as giveaways to 9 lucky students planning to attend college this fall. Winners will be notified several weeks after the event. The mission of ACPE is to expand access & increase success in postsecondary education for Arizona.
