Arizona Union Membership Rises

According to a United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics report, the Arizona Union membership rose to 8.8% in union density or roughly 230,000 union members. This is despite a slowing economy. Even with the weak employment growth & the continued decline of the manufacturing sector, Arizona was 3rd in the nation in increasing union percentages statewide & 5th in the nation in increasing union membership overall.
