Town of Florence Offering American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course

The Town of Florence Parks & Rec. Dept. is offering the American Red Cross Lifeguard certification course which will begin March 11th, & be offered through March 22nd, (during Spring Break) from 10 am - 3 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday.

Students will receive training in First Aid & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. This certification is accepted nationwide. Students must be 15 years old by the last day of class to be eligible. Students must also be able to swim 500 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke to enter the class.

The class fee is $85 for residents & $105 for non-residents. The price of registration includes books. Lifeguards who become employed with the Town of Florence will receive a 50% reimbursement check on their training class upon completion of the employment process (a copy of the receipt must be kept & submitted by the student at the end of the season in order to take advantage of this offer).
