'National Hunting and Fishing Day' is Coming

Experience the great outdoors & learn tips about hunting, fishing & wildlife at several free events held around the state Sept. 17th-22nd. The Arizona Game & Fish Dept is conducting these events in celebration of 'National Hunting and Fishing Day,' which is Sept 22nd.

Activities include: a “Get Outdoors” outdoor expo from 7 - 11 am at Tempe Town Lake on Sept. 22nd; a mini-expo at the Tucson Sportsman’s Warehouse store on Sept. 22, & various seminars or booths in the Phoenix, Tucson & Kingman areas from Sept. 17th-21st.

Tuesday, Sept. 18th, 7 - 9 pm - Biologist Randy Babb presents a free seminar on “Small game of Arizona: hunting techniques & where to go,” Bass Pro Shops, 1133 N. Dobson Rd, in Mesa.

Thursday, Sept. 20th, 7 - 9 pm - Biologist Jim Heffelfinger presents a free seminar on “Deer of the Southwest,” Bass Pro Shops, at 1133 N. Dobson Rd, in Mesa.

Saturday, Sept. 22nd, 7 - 11 am - Free “Get Outside” outdoor recreation expo at Tempe Town Lake, including a fishing clinic, introduction to archery, live wildlife displays, canoeing/kayaking, nature hikes, & info on hunting, fishing, camping & wildlife conservation.

Saturday, Sept. 22nd, 10 am to 3 pm - Game & Fish information booth offering free materials on hunting, fishing, wildlife & outdoor recreation, at Cabela’s, 9380 W. Glendale Ave., in Glendale.
