Casa Grande City Councilmember Peterson Has Resigned

Councilmember Karl Peterson resigned from the Casa Grande City Council Monday night. Peterson began his tenure on the Casa Grande City Council in the spring of 2004, most recently serving as the Mayor Pro Tem, a position now filled by long-time Councilmember Dick Powell. As dictated by the City's Charter, the City of Casa Grande will be accepting applications for the vacant Council seat left by Peterson. Peterson made it known that the reason for his resignation is that he will be moving out of state.

The search is now on for a replacement & the Casa Grande City Council is now accepting applications to fill the vacancy on the City Council. The term of the office will extend through June 1st, 2009. Applicants shall have resided in the city limits for three years next preceding the date of such appointment and attained the age of twenty one (21) years. Applications are available at the City Clerk’s Office, Gloria Leija, 510 E. Florence Blvd. The last date to submit applications is July 30th, 2008, at 5 pm.
