Eloy Fire Department Donates HazMat Equipment PCSO
On July 8th, at the Eloy Toltec Fire Station No. 522 Pinal County Sheriff Chris Vasquez, accepted a donation of more than $5,000 in hazardous materials equipment from Eloy Fire Department Deputy Chief Coy L. Amerson. The donation included a Sirius Air Monitor, a Ludlum Radiation Monitor, two Level "A" HazMat suits, two sets HazMat boots, two hard hats/helmets and replacement supplies for two HazMat kits. The equipment was part of an effort between the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, Eloy Fire Department, and other local public safety organizations to create a mutual response for HazMat situations in Pinal County. Without a fire department large enough to cover the entire county, PCSO deputies are often HazMat trained to respond to emergency situations.
